As a SCAD vocal performance student, you’ll prepare for a multihyphenate career across stage, screen, studio, streaming, and every immersive entertainment experience yet to come. Rather than train for a single pipeline like traditional conservatory programs, at SCAD you’ll ascend as a creative entrepreneur, moving fluidly between musical theater, contemporary music, and the ever-expanding technological landscape. With the largest creative ecosystem in higher education, SCAD is the only university where voice meets design, film, fashion, animation, and emerging media.
Vocal performance is an audition-based undergraduate program. Once you've been accepted to SCAD, you will be required to submit an audition in order to be accepted into the vocal performance degree program.

The SCAD vocal performance program was developed in partnership with internationally acclaimed musician, composer, and bandleader Jon Batiste. An eight-time Grammy Award–winning artist, Batiste has also been honored with Academy, Emmy, and Golden Globe Awards. Drawing from his vast experience across entertainment mediums, Batiste helped define the program’s vision and creative direction, preparing the next generation of performers for thriving careers
