Coffee Talk: “The Profitable Artist: 5 Keys to Success”
Join the office of career and alumni success for an artist coffee talk presented in conjunction with “i feel ya: scad + andré 3000 benjamin.” SCAD alumna Elizabeth Winnel (B.F.A., illustration, 2008, M.F.A., painting, 2013) and renowned contemporary artist Tim Okamura and curator Lori Zimmer will be on-hand to offer their experiences. The talk, “The Profitable Artist: Five Keys to Success,” is free to attend and open to the public.
Coffee talk participants are invited to experience “i feel ya,” an exploration of fashion, film and painting through the eyes of three dynamic artists. Custom jumpsuits, designed by Benjamin for a worldwide tour celebrating 20 years of Outkast history, exhibited alongside an experimental film directed by Greg Brunkalla (B.F.A., video/film, 2001) and large-scale abstract paintings by Jimmy O’Neal (B.F.A., illustration, 1989), create an experience that provokes a socially dynamic conversation about language and context. The exhibition will be on view Dec. 3-14, 2014, at Mana Miami.
