Explore financial tools provided by Inceptia
SCAD has partnered with Inceptia, a division of the National Student Loan Program, to give you a leg up on your financial future with several great services, including Financial Avenue, Loan Summary and post-graduation loan outreach. These programs are provided to SCAD students at no cost and can help you prepare for your creative career.
Financial Avenue is an online financial education tool developed with college students in mind. It uses videos, interactive activities and customized action plans to help empower you to make informed financial decisions. Courses can be completed at your own pace and include topics such as:
- Psychology of money
- Foundations of money
- College and money
- Loan guidance
- Earning money
- Credit and protecting your money
- Spending and borrowing
- Debt and repayment
- Future of your money
Get started by setting up your private account on the Financial Avenue website. Once there, click the "Login" link at the top of the page, click to sign up as a student and use access code "scadbees." To create your account, you'll need your SCAD email address and a password of your choosing.
During your time at SCAD, if you have borrowed federal loans, you will be emailed access to your Inceptia Loan Summary. Loan Summary allows students to view their student loan balances, understand and estimate repayment, and learn about resources to help make informed borrowing decisions. Repayment counseling outreach
Inceptia provides you with free assistance on your student loan obligations to ensure you feel comfortable — and can be successful — in your loan repayment. Inceptia may be calling to help you with next steps in your repayment journey. While you are in your grace period, their counselors may reach out to you to answer questions you may have on your repayment options. If you become delinquent on your loans, they may also contact you to help find a solution that works within your means.
The Inceptia counselors are there to help you with every step by staying in touch with you via phone calls, letters and/or emails. They will not be collecting money from you. Inceptia's nonprofit purpose is to help you find answers to your questions and solutions to your issues. We encourage you to visit Inceptia's Student Loan Knowledge HQ website for more information.
