Joint enrollment vs. dual enrollment

Choosing the right path depends on your residency and your academic goals. Here is how SCAD differentiates the two:

Joint enrollment

SCAD joint enrollment is for high school students ready to start college-level coursework. You earn college credit for every course completed, but these credits do not count toward your high school graduation requirements. Joint enrollment students do not need to live in Georgia to be eligible.

Dual enrollment

Georgia’s Dual Enrollment Program at SCAD is for high school students residing in the state of Georgia. This is a formal agreement between SCAD and your high school to earn dual credits that apply to both your high school graduation requirements and your future college degree.
