Celebrate collaboration at seventh annual Artist’s Book Symposium
SCAD presents a day devoted to the study of artists’ books, co-hosted by the ACA Library of SCAD and the printmaking department.
2 p.m. Artist talk with Cynthia Lollis, SCAD professor of printmaking and book arts
Lollis collaborates with German artist Daniela Deeg to create artists’ books that combine text, drawings and photographs. These books were made while traveling together to such places as Rome and Venice, Italy; New York; Copenhagen, Denmark; the Black Forest, Germany; Las Vegas, Nevada; and London. Their work is exhibited and collected internationally and claims a chapter in the book "Masters: Book Arts: Major Works by Leading Artists" (2011).
3 p.m. seventh annual Student Artist’s Book Competition award presentation
Elizabeth Lide, local artist and educator, announces award winners.
3:30 p.m. Artist’s Book Petting Zoo
Read and touch a selection of work from the university’s Artist’s Book Collection, including this year’s award-winning submissions.
Light refreshments will follow.
