Mwangi Hutter performance: ‘Cloth to Cover Every Stone’
The SCAD Museum of Art presents "Cloth to Cover Every Stone," a new performance work by the collaborative duo Mwangi Hutter. The work features a couple engaged in communication, entering into and falling out of contact. It employs different mediums including the body, clothing, paint, voice and video projection.
Mwangi Hutter’s practice encompasses video, photography, installation, sculpture and performance. They, themselves, are central to their creative endeavors as they serve as a sounding board to reflect on changing societal realities. “Cloth to Cover Every Stone” merges their conceptual and aesthetic interests, promising audiences a transformative experience.
This performance is organized by Storm Janse van Rensburg, SCAD head curator of exhibitions, in collaboration with the SCAD performing arts department.
