Investigate the digital age at artist talk for Rhett Scott exhibition 'Making It Up As I Go'

Join professor of painting Kent Knowles in conversation with painting M.F.A. thesis candidate Rhett Scott, as they discuss Scott’s exhibition Making It Up As I Go, on view in Trois Gallery Feb. 10–20. Scott will discuss the strategies he employs to explore concepts of reality and simulation in his unique painting style. Transforming the flat surface into a 3D landscape of marks and objects, Scott creates illusory environments that confound the viewer’s experience.

Making It Up As I Go is presented as part of SCAD deFINE ART 2020, the university’s annual program of exhibitions, lectures, and performances held Feb. 18–20 at locations in Atlanta and Savannah, Georgia.

The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
