How to give
SCAD is one of the world's leading art and design institutions, thanks in part to contributions from individuals like you who believe in the value of a SCAD education. We gratefully recognize the vital support our generous donors have offered to our success, and we hope you will consider joining their efforts to ensure a bright future for SCAD.
Outright gifts
Outright gifts can be made online or by mail. Checks can be made payable to the Savannah College of Art and Design and include your contribution's designation in the note field (e.g., unrestricted, general endowment, SCAD FASH).
Pledges
Pledges are formal commitments to donate to a specific area of your choice, which can be fulfilled through payments made over time. Each payment on your pledge within a tax year is eligible for a charitable deduction on your income tax. Contact the SCAD Giving at [email protected] to discuss a personalized pledge plan.
Matching gifts
Many companies support employee philanthropy through matching programs that amplify the impact of donations. Contact your HR department to find out if your company participates in such programs. If it does, request a matching gift form and send it to SCAD Giving.
Planned giving
Bequests and estate plan gifts are a great way to make your mark at SCAD. To do this, include a provision in your will or trust that specifies the amount of your estate to be donated to SCAD and indicates whether it is for general use or a specific purpose.

Donor-advised funds (DAFs)
Donor-advised funds (DAFs) are dedicated investment accounts that use cash, stocks, or other assets through a sponsoring organization for simple, flexible, and tax-efficient charitable giving. Your contribution can be invested and grow tax-free, allowing you to increase your impact over time.
To recommend SCAD for a grant, use your provider's online portal to give to any IRS-qualified nonprofit. Make sure to include SCAD's tax ID number (58-1357177), your name, and contact information to help us credit your gift appropriately. For questions or assistance, contact the SCAD Giving department at [email protected].
Gifts-in-kind
Gifts-in-kind include non-monetary items such as art, books, clothing, and equipment. Acceptance depends on need, restrictions, cost, maintenance, delivery, storage, and others. If accepted, a giving officer will contact you to assist with the donation process and provide you with a Deed of Gift form to sign and return. Contact SCAD Giving with details, photos, and relevant information.
For gifts-in-kind valued more than $5,000, a current appraisal is required for tax credit. The IRS mandates donors to obtain, at their expense, a qualified, independent appraisal and have the appraiser sign IRS Form 8283. Donors must pack, ship, and deliver gifts-in-kind.
