Scope out the startup world with SCAD alumni at CAS panel
If you have considered working for a startup (or creating your own), you might have some questions. Where do I start? What should I know? Is work-life balance possible at a startup? Our panel of experienced SCAD alums have the answers to these questions and more.
Kim Goulbourne (B.F.A., graphic design, 2012), Meghan Carreau (B.A., visual communication, 2011), and Michelle A. Gallegos (B.F.A., interior design, 2017) offer insights into building your brand from the ground up and what it's like to pursue a career in the startup world. Open discussion is encouraged, so be sure to bring your best questions.
Kim Goulbourne is a TEDx speaker, Webby Award-winning designer, and app developer from Jamaica. By day, she serves as a senior product designer for Splice, a cloud-based platform for music producers, and by night, Goulbourne constructs thoughtful products at Bourn, her venture studio.
Meghan Carreau began as an art director for Fortune 500 brands, including Unilever and Mercedes Benz, before founding her own company and moving into product design leadership. She is currently head of product design and research at The Clorox Company.
Michelle A. Gallegos is the co-founder and CEO of The Y Group Inc., a workplace strategy, design, and consulting firm. Her expertise spans a variety of practice areas including office building and high-rise development, technology, government and defense, and tenant improvement initiatives, among others.
This event, hosted by the office for career and alumni success, is free and open to SCAD students and alumni. For questions, contact Alicia Lee at [email protected].
