George Yoon thesis exhibition: 'Acknowledgment of Suffering'
In his thesis exhibition Acknowledgment of Suffering, George Yoon (M.F.A. painting) presents paintings that deal with themes of isolation, identity, and language. He combines aesthetics of the East and the West in an attempt to express harmony and emphasize similarities between cultures rather than differences. Yoon’s use of printmaking techniques within his paintings allows him to incorporate text and pre-existing images, which imbue his observations of this cultural binary.
The exhibition is free and open to the public.
Gallery hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
