Film screening: 'Moon Rising' by Moon Medicine
Join us for a screening of "Moon Rising," a video created by multimedia concept band Moon Medicine. Renowned visual artist Sanford Biggers is the creative director of this collective, formed with a rotating cast of musicians, designers and performance artists. Moon Medicine performs against a backdrop of curated sound effects and images of sci-fi, punk, sacred geometry, coded symbology, film noir, minstrels, world politics and ceremonial dance.
"Moon Rising" is directed by Terence Nance with Shawn Peters as director of photography; music is by Moon Medicine. The video stars Fanon Wilkins and San Dolo. Biggers serves as executive producer.
This screening is a part of the "Jacob Lawrence: Lines of Influence" symposium, Oct. 19–20. The symposium is free and open to the public.
