Visit Ivy Hall, writing center and literary hub of SCAD Atlanta
Take a special tour of Ivy Hall, the hub for distinguished visiting scholars-in-residence, lectures, the Ivy Hall Writers Series and literary salons at SCAD Atlanta.
Noted architect Gottfried L. Norrman designed the Queen Anne-Victorian style Ivy Hall — formerly called the Edward C. Peters House — in 1883. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, Ivy Hall was donated to SCAD in 2007 and extensively rehabilitated before its opening in fall 2008. The rehabilitation process was featured in Atlanta Public Broadcasting’s five-part documentary series "The Art of Restoration." SCAD and Ivy Hall have also received a variety of awards, including an American Institute of Architects Georgia Honor Award, the Shutze Award for Craftsmanship and the 2009 Georgia Trust Preservation Award for Excellence.
This event is free and open to prospective students.
