Reception for Amanda Abraham exhibition: 'Urban Palimpsest'

Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015

Trois Gallery

Atlanta, GA

1600 Peachtree St. NW

Join us for a reception celebrating “Urban Palimpsest,” an exhibition of works by Amanda Abraham (M.F.A. printmaking, B.F.A. graphic design) that brings traces of the cityscape into the gallery by presenting works that are inspired by graffiti marks that have accumulated as a palimpsest — an area that presents extensive layers of activity or use — over time. Utilizing photography of the urban landscape and architecture found in and around Atlanta, Abraham digitally processes and exposes her images onto aluminum plates to create the colorful prints included in this exhibition.

Gallery hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The reception and the exhibition are free and open to the public.
