Amanda Abraham exhibition: 'Urban Palimpsest'
SCAD presents “Urban Palimpsest,” an exhibition of works by Amanda Abraham (M.F.A. printmaking, B.F.A. graphic design) that brings traces of the cityscape into the gallery by presenting works that are inspired by graffiti marks that have accumulated as a palimpsest — an area that presents extensive layers of activity or use — over time. Utilizing photography of the urban landscape and architecture found in and around Atlanta, Abraham digitally processes and exposes her images onto aluminum plates to create the colorful prints included in this exhibition.
Reception: Thursday, Aug. 20, 6-8 p.m.
Gallery Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The exhibition is free and open to the public.
