SCAD Atlanta Commencement 2022
Congratulations SCAD class of 2022! Join us as we celebrate your accomplishments at the SCAD Atlanta commencement ceremony.
This year's experience will be split into two opportunities.
The Presidential Conferment of Degrees ceremony will take place virtually at 9 a.m. Friday, June 3, and stream live online via the main commencement page, providing the limitless audience with a front-row seat from the comfort of their homes. During this ceremony, students from all SCAD locations will unite as they and their guests hear from dynamic keynote speakers, outstanding graduates, and special remarks from SCAD President and Founder Paula Wallace as she confers degrees.
Following the morning ceremony, the Presentation of Degrees ceremony will take place at Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, where faculty representatives will call the names of graduates as they walk across the stage. For friends and loved ones who are unable attend in person, the Presentation of Degrees ceremonies will also stream live online.
If you plan to attend the Presentation of Degrees ceremony remotely and would like your name called, submit your request to [email protected] by Monday, May 16. In your request, include the subject line "Remote attendance," and list your student ID number, legal name, and how you wish you to have your name pronounced during the ceremony. Once your graduation status is confirmed, you will receive a confirmation with the time of your ceremony.

Graduate registration
Registration is not required to view the virtual Presidential Conferment of Degrees ceremony or the virtual Presentation of Degrees ceremony as they stream live online.
SCADnow graduates and virtual enrollees
SCADnow online learning graduates are invited to participate in their school's Presentation of Degrees ceremony in Savannah.
All other students are invited to participate in the on-ground Presentation of Degrees ceremonies as assigned by the SCAD location at which they are enrolled.

Ticket allotment
For the Atlanta on-ground Presentation of Degrees ceremony, each graduate is allotted six guest tickets.
SCAD does not regulate the private redistribution of tickets and strictly forbids the sale of commencement tickets.

To claim your tickets, enter your nine-digit SCAD ID number as your access key. Select your preferred number of guest tickets and complete the process. You will have the option to add your guests’ names and have the tickets emailed directly to them.

When is the deadline to order a cap and gown?
The deadline to order is Wednesday, May 11. However, we encourage students to order their caps and gowns far in advance of this deadline to ensure that they receive them before the ceremony.
Do I need a cap and gown to participate?
If you plan to only attend the virtual Presidential Conferment of Degrees ceremony, you are not required to purchase a cap and gown.
However, a cap and gown are required to participate in the on-ground Presentation of Degrees ceremony.
When can graduates expect to receive their diplomas?
During the ceremony, graduates will receive a congratulatory letter from President Wallace inside their SCAD diploma cover. The actual diploma will be mailed once spring grades are submitted and the student's graduation requirements are confirmed. Graduates can expect to receive their diploma within 12 weeks of commencement at the mailing address they provided on their graduation application.

Who is included in this ceremony?
Any student who is eligible for graduation can apply for and participate in the virtual commencement experience, including students from Savannah, Atlanta, and SCADnow.
Do I have to register to view the livestream?
You do not have to register to view the livestream of the Presidential Conferment of Degrees ceremony or the livestream of the Presentation of Degrees ceremonies.

Are you streaming the Presentation of Degrees ceremonies?
Yes, all Presentation of Degrees ceremonies will be streamed live via the main commencement page. Links to the livestream for each ceremony are available on scad.edu/commencement.
How many tickets does each graduate receive?
Each graduate will be allotted six tickets to be distributed to their guests.
Where do I park?
Graduates and guests will park in designated lots. More information will be available closer to the commencement date.
Will transportation from SCAD be provided?
Transportation from SCAD will not be provided. However, parking is available for a fee at Georgia World Congress Center.
What time should graduates plan to arrive?
Graduates should plan to arrive at the venue an hour and a half prior to the start of the ceremony.

Presentation of Degrees ceremonies
When do doors open?
Doors will open at Georgia World Congress Center 90 minutes prior to the your graduate's school-specific ceremony.
Will the Presentation of Degrees ceremonies be streamed live?
Yes, the Presentation of Degrees ceremonies will be streamed live via the main commencement page. A link to the livestream are available on scad.edu/commencement.
What is the security policy for the ceremonies?
All guests are required to pass through a metal detector or wand to ensure the safety of ceremony guests.
What is the bag policy?
Large bags, including but not limited to backpacks, suitcases, large camera bags, and large purses, are not allowed in the venue. All bags, purses, and packages are subject to inspection before entry to the venue.
Where do I park?
Limited parking, including ADA parking, will be available for a fee at the Georgia World Congress Center on a first-come, first-served basis.
Will transportation from SCAD be provided?
We will not be providing transportation from SCAD. Public transportation is accessible to Georgia World Congress Center from MARTA via the Vine City stop on Northside Drive. A single $2.50 fare covers one-way bus or train trips, including transfers.
