Build equity in architecture with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill at SCAD CATALYST series

Join Skidmore, Owings & Merrill senior urban designer Tiara Hughes (she/her/hers) for this episode of CATALYST. Hughes has dedicated her personal and professional career to bringing awareness to the inequalities in the architecture industry. In this episode, Hughes details the inequalities black designers face in the architecture industry, and how to break down some of these barriers to make real systemic change. She will share how Skidmore, Owings & Merrill is taking actionable steps to transform their organization in the wake of George Floyd's murder, which sparked international protests. Be a part of this conversation and engage in the discussion by asking questions at the end.

Diversity and inclusion take thoughtful and persistent work. CATALYST aims to shed light on what this work looks like by talking to companies about their journey — both the successes and the struggles of promoting inclusion. CATALYST is a platform where students can ask questions directly to industry professionals and discuss action steps.

This event, hosted by the SCAD office for career and alumni success, is free and open to the public.

You are encouraged to submit your questions for speakers here.
