Group exhibition: 'Rest(less)'
SCAD presents Rest(less), a virtual exhibition of photography exploring diverse responses to the last several months of isolation and social change. The exhibition features work by students and recent alumni using limitation and restriction as parameters for innovation. The photographs were created within the confines of the artists’ immediate surroundings, leading them to employ inventive and improvisational methods — using dolls for models in fashion photography, documenting the once-bustling commercial spaces of parking lots, or turning the camera on their families in shared spaces. At the virtual reception, the artists discuss their works.
Virtual reception: Thursday, Oct. 15, 5–7 p.m.
Rest(less) is organized in collaboration with the nonprofit arts organization Atlanta Celebrates Photography. The reception is presented as part of Guests and Gusto, the university’s digital series of conversations and content with leading cultural voices.
