Reception for Desiree Palermo exhibition: 'Yesterday's Water'
Don't miss a reception celebrating “Yesterday’s Water,” a Master of Fine Arts thesis exhibition by Desiree Palermo (M.F.A. painting). Palermo’s work — which is on view Monday, Nov. 9, through Friday, Nov. 20, 2015 — focuses on process-based abstraction that carefully emphasizes formal elements and relationships derived from intuitive decision-making. References to abstract and abstract expressionist art drive many of the techniques and strategies in the creation of her works. Palermo works intuitively and employs expressive and visceral gestures as well as “paint pours” that emphasize the materiality of the work, while exploring her interest in the deconstruction of images.
Gallery hours: Monday–Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The reception and exhibition are free and open to the public.
