Jewelers Mutual & SCAD Bench Education Endowment
Historic, multimillion dollar 10-year alliance
— set to develop the next generation of bench jewelers
Jewelers Mutual Group, the insurer and business solutions provider dedicated to the jewelry industry since 1913, has partnered with SCAD to support bench jeweler education. Bench jewelers are highly trained artisans who create, repair, and modify jewelry using specialized techniques and tools.
Together, Jewelers Mutual and SCAD will address an alarming shortage of these artisans through a 10-year, $10 million dollar alliance, including an annual scholarship program and enhancements to academic programming. These efforts will expand the pool of commercial-ready bench jewelers and improve student and graduate access to retailers, manufacturers, and designers.
