Clinard Hall
Clinard Hall houses the SCAD human resources department.
A three-story, Italianate-style stucco house, Clinard Hall was built in 1872 for Commodore William Hone. Overlooking the eastern edge of Forsyth Park, the home was listed as a contributing building to the Downtown Savannah Historic District in 1979. SCAD acquired the home in 2002 for use as the university’s human resources offices. In 2026, Clinard Hall was connected to neighboring Hanak Hall via a breezeway.
Clinard Hall is named for alum, longtime staff member, and noted preservationist Susie Clinard (B.F.A., historic preservation, 1983), who served as vice president for human resources among her multiple positions with the university.
