Notification details
Students who submit their work for Beyond the Dot 2022 will receive an email notification with their jury decision no later than 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, May 4.
If your artwork is currently on display on the fourth or fifth floors at SCAD Atlanta, it will be available for framing after the May 4 notification. Information about picking up artwork already in the School of Foundation Studies exhibition collection will be provided in your notification.
Delivery of accepted works
All artwork accepted for the awards ceremony must be delivered for hanging between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday, May 9. Artwork must be professionally presented and ready to hang (with wire on back if framed) at the time of physical delivery to Room 550 at SCAD Atlanta.
Students are responsible for the best possible presentation of their work. 2D artwork must be matted in white or off-white. If the work is surface mounted, it must be to black board only; colored matting is not allowed. All matted works should have foam core behind the artwork as a backing. All matting and mounting boards should be cleanly cut. Dry mounting with rubber cement is required for mounted works. Framed work is highly encouraged, but not required. Artwork should be framed with plexiglass, not glass. Framing in white or black wood is recommended.
Email accepted digital artwork to [email protected] by 11:59 p.m. Monday, May 9. Digital artwork will be displayed on an LCD screen and must be formatted for optimal viewing; all digital work must be high quality and color corrected from RGB to CMYK.
If the delivered artwork differs from submitted images, it may be rejected from the exhibition. Students will receive an email notification regarding the rejection of any artwork due to poor presentation or any other reason by 11:59 p.m. Monday, May 16. The exhibition committee reserves the right to refuse any artwork that is not found to be representative of the work submitted for the application or does not meet professional presentation standards. SCAD is not responsible for damage due to poor craftsmanship in presentation or the use of glass in frames.
When the exhibition ends, all artwork will be removed from the exhibition by School of Foundation Studies faculty. Some artwork will be retained for accreditation and exhibition purposes. Students will receive an email if their artwork is available for pickup. If you have any questions, email [email protected].
