Find harmony with Amazon Music's equitable design initiative at SCAD 'CATALYST' series

Last year set into motion a new era of collective action in response to racial-ethnic injustices around the world. From communities to corporations, conversations around equity and inclusion are front and center, including at Amazon Music, the streaming service for the world’s largest online retailer. Discover how Xerxes Irani, principal creative director for Amazon Music, plans to drive large-scale societal change through equitable design.

SCAD students and alums will get a candid look at how Irani’s own perspective has evolved in the wake of last year’s racial injustices and learn about his action-oriented initiative to boost awareness and advance inclusivity. After the episode, students can ask Irani questions about his experiences and his plans to encourage awareness through equitable design.

For a more personalized discussion, submit your questions in advance. If you are interested in hosting a CATALYST episode, you can complete the interest form.

This free event is open to SCAD students and alums. For accommodation requests, email [email protected].

About CATALYST

CATALYST is a series of conversational interviews sponsored by the office for career and alumni success that helps students shape the world around them by spotlighting real companies and their journey — both the success and struggles — to a more inclusive, equitable workplace. CATALYST also offers students the unique opportunity to ask questions directly to and brainstorm action steps with professionals from the art and design world.
