The design world's new establishment holds court on everything style at three-day signature event
SAVANNAH, Georgia — Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) kicks off its 14th annual SCADstyle design summit. The three-day event brings together top design minds to share their stories and inspiration with students, alumni and the larger community. SCADstyle's dynamic programming takes place April 9–11 at SCAD locations in Atlanta and Savannah, Georgia, and Hong Kong.
"Famed art critic John Ruskin once wrote, 'Fine art is that in which the hand, the head, and the heart of man go together.' We celebrate this triple convergence on a grand scale at SCADstyle 2019," said SCAD president and founder Paula Wallace. "This year's array of tastemakers includes designers of fashion, jewelry, user experience, furniture, interiors and even transportation. SCADstyle's revolutionary interplay of all these disciplines simply does not happen anywhere else in the world!"
More than 20 top-ranked SCAD degree programs will be represented. In addition to featured programming, industry leaders will interact with students through master classes, portfolio reviews and recruitment opportunities on all three campuses.
This year's event features fashion designer Mary Katrantzou, Vogue Creative Digital Director Sally Singer, fashion designer Peter Som, experience designer Nelly Ben Hayoun, Out Magazine Editor-in-Chief Phillip Picardi, designer and entrepreneur Steve Madden, Levi Strauss Co. Historian Tracey Panek, GQ Fashion Director Mobolaji Dawodu, architect Goil Amornvivat, Serena & Lily Chief Design Officer Kirsty Williams, and beauty entrepreneurs Linda Wells, Nick Axelrod, Rose-Marie Swift, Michael Marcano and Georgie Greville.
