SCADFILM Storytellers series continues with Karen McCullah writers workshop
Join SCADFILM and acclaimed comedy screenwriter Karen McCullah for an engaging and intimate workshop.
McCullah’s story does not begin in Hollywood. While living in New Mexico and Colorado and working in marketing, her passion for writing grew. She remained persistent, and then, she and her creative partner Kirsten Smith decided to try a teen comedy.
Using Shakespeare’s "The Taming of the Shrew" for inspiration, the result was "10 Things I Hate About You." The script sold three weeks later. For the next two decades, McCullah has written and contributed to a variety of films, including "Legally Blonde," "She’s the Man," "The House Bunny," and "Girls Trip."
SCADFILM is honored to host McCullah, and participants will learn the nuances of writing humor for the big screen from one of the best.
Seating is limited and tickets are required. This event is free for SCAD Card holders and $45 for the general public. Visit karenmccullah.eventbrite.com for tickets.
This is the second part of the inaugural SCADFILM Storytellers, a series of special screenings, classes and discussions with top creatives in entertainment.
