Jarrett Christian exhibition: 'From Terminus'

In his thesis exhibition, M.F.A. photography student Jarrett Christian presents a collection of photographs depicting subjects within the Washington, D.C., public transit system. The photographs were captured by happenstance using available light on waiting platforms or in train compartments.

With the application of chiaroscuro lighting, Christian's work reflects influences of Caravaggio and Vermeer. Collectively, it asks us to compare the individual in contrast to the commonality of the human experience in a public arena.

Reception: Thursday, Jan.15, 6-8 p.m.

Gallery hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The exhibition is free and open to the public.
