SCAD printing
SCAD community members can print to any SCAD computer lab printer or classroom printer through an internet connection on or off campus. You can also track your printing transactions and how much paper you have available on your account.
In an effort to reduce our carbon footprint and encourage the responsible use of resources, SCAD moved to a digitally monitored print balance system in all classrooms and labs. A trial run of this program at a single campus building reduced paper consumption at that building alone by more than 100,000 sheets of paper in a single quarter (saving roughly a half-ton of paper).
At the beginning of each quarter, you will be provided a virtual balance equivalent to 500 pages of black-and-white laser prints. This balance will be reset to the 500-sheet equivalent each new quarter, regardless of the prior quarter's usage. If you exhaust your virtual balance during the quarter and would like to continue printing at SCAD buildings, you can refresh your balance by transferring funds from your SCAD Card to the printing system.
Protect yourself when printing wirelessly
Remember that you are printing to a public SCAD printer when using the wireless printing service, so do not use this service to print out private items such as your Social Security number, driver's license number, credit card information, or other sensitive data unless you are in reach of the document as soon as it prints.
To access the printing system
Access to the printing system requires using a SCAD computer. Students in Atlanta and Savannah should login to a SCAD computer, navigate to myprint.scad.edu, and log in with their MySCAD username and password.
To check your print balance
Once you log in, you will be brought to a summary page that shows your total print jobs and total pages remaining. You will also be updated of your remaining amount after every print job.
