"You Can't Desert the Muse: Focus on Recent Print Acquisitions"
"You Can't Desert the Muse: Focus on Recent Print Acquisitions" features approximately 20 prints by contemporary printmakers, many of whom were associated with Robert Blackburn's noted Printmaking Workshop in New York. This was a widely diverse center for lithography and other print techniques founded by the master printer in 1948. A number of the works on view pay tribute to Blackburn.
Artists include Marisol, Hunt, Quick-to-See Smith, Oliveira, Gonzalez Tornero, Khalil, Gentry, Blackburn and others. Blackburn once said, "I & realized that you can't desert the Muse, because, if you desert her, she deserts you."
