Experience a Southern rock legend at Lucas Theatre premiere of 'Gregg Allman: The Music of My Soul'

Visit the Lucas Theatre for the Arts for a special screening of Gregg Allman: The Music of My Soul, a new documentary celebrating the music legend and longtime Savannah resident. This one-night event will feature exclusive exhibits on loan from The Big House Museum in Macon, a panel discussion with the filmmakers, a special musical performance, and additional surprises. Ticket proceeds will support the establishment of a Gregg Allman Endowment at SCAD, helping foster future generations of creative talent and artistic innovation.

Directed by Grammy Award and Golden Globe Award-winning filmmaker James Keach, Gregg Allman: The Music of My Soul offers a profound portrait of Gregg Allman, exploring the life and work of a luminous musical figure whose life and songs mirrored his struggles and salvation. One of the most distinctive voices in American music, Allman was a groundbreaking architect of Southern rock as co-founder and frontman of the eponymous Allman Brothers Band. Told through archival recordings, candid interviews, and electric live performances, the film weaves an intimate portrait of Allman with rarely seen concert footage that captures the Allman Brothers Band at their creative peak, offering audiences an immersive, front-row view of one of rock’s most powerful live outfits.
