film still from My Neighbor Totoro

Discover the enchantments of the forest at 'My Neighbor Totoro' Lucas Theatre screening

One of the most endearing and internationally renowned films of all time, My Neighbor Totoro is a deceptively simple tale about two girls, Satsuki and Mei, who move with their father to a new house in the countryside. The girls soon discover that the surrounding forests are home to a family of Totoros, gentle yet powerful creatures who live in a vast, ancient camphor tree and are visible only to children. Beneath the film's playfulness and narrative simplicity, rooted in director Hayao Miyazaki's childhood imaginings, lie depths of wisdom and a spiritual reverence for nature's power.

Tickets for the screening are $5 for SCAD Card holders, students, seniors, and military, and $8 for the general public. Children under 12 receive free admission.
