SCAD Atlanta Commencement 2023
Congratulations, SCAD class of 2023! Celebrate your accomplishments at the SCAD Atlanta commencement ceremonies. The Presidential Conferment and Presentation of Degrees ceremonies will take place at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Friday, June 2. For loved ones who cannot attend in person, all ceremonies will stream live online on YouTube.
During the event, students will hear from distinguished students and alumni, as well as heartfelt remarks from SCAD President and Founder Paula Wallace as she confers degrees.
Each graduate will receive four guest tickets prior to Commencement.

SCADnow online learning graduates are invited to participate in their school’s Presentation of Degrees ceremonies in Savannah.

Ticket allotment
For the Atlanta on-ground Presidential Conferment and Presentation of Degrees ceremonies, each graduate is allotted four guest tickets.
SCAD does not regulate the private redistribution of tickets and strictly forbids the sale of Commencement tickets.
Claim your tickets
For those participating in the 10 a.m. ceremony for the School of Animation and Motion, School of Creative Technology, School of Design, School of Fashion, School of Fine Arts, and School of Liberal Arts, you may claim your tickets by entering your nine-digit SCAD ID number for access. Then select your preferred number of guest tickets and complete the process. You will have the option to add your guests’ names and have their tickets emailed directly to them.
For those participating in the 2 p.m. ceremony for The De Sole School of Business Innovation, School of Building Arts, School of Film and Acting, and the School of Visual Communication, you may claim your tickets by entering your nine-digit SCAD ID number as your access. Limited parking, including ADA parking, will be available for a fee at the Georgia World Congress Center in the blue and yellow lots off Northside Drive on a first-come, first-served basis. View the Georgia World Congress Center parking map.
Will transportation from SCAD be provided?
Transportation from SCAD will not be provided. However, parking is available for a fee at Georgia World Congress Center. Public transportation is accessible to Georgia World Congress Center from MARTA via the Vine City stop on Northside Drive. A single US$2.50 fare covers one-way bus or train trips, including transfers.

When is the deadline to order a cap and gown?
At this time, the deadline to order a cap and gown, April 27, has passed.
Do I need a cap and gown to participate?
A cap and gown are required to participate in the on-ground Presidential Conferment and Presentation of Degrees ceremonies.
What is the deadline to record my name for Marching Order?
The deadline to record your name pronunciation is Monday, May 8.
When can graduates expect to receive their diplomas?
During the ceremony, graduates will receive a congratulatory letter from SCAD President and Founder Paula Wallace inside their SCAD diploma cover. The actual diploma will be mailed once spring grades are submitted and the student's graduation requirements are confirmed. Graduates can expect to receive their diploma within 12 weeks of Commencement at the mailing address they provided on their graduation application.
How many tickets does each graduate receive?
Each graduate will be allotted four tickets to be distributed to their guests.

When do doors open?
Doors will open at Georgia World Congress Center 90 minutes prior to your graduate's school-specific ceremony.
Will the Presidential Conferment and Presentation of Degrees ceremonies be streamed live?

What is the security policy for the ceremonies?
All guests are required to pass through a metal detector or wand to ensure the safety of ceremony guests.
What is the bag policy?
Large bags, including but not limited to backpacks, suitcases, large camera bags, and large purses, are not allowed in the venue. All bags, purses, and packages are subject to inspection before entry to the venue.
