Group exhibition: 'Images à la Sauvette: Three Weeks in Provence'
Paying homage to French photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson’s iconic series Images à la Sauvette, or images made “on the run,” this collection of work by SCAD students in Lacoste explores how the chance occurrences that exemplify Cartier-Bresson’s concept of the “decisive moment” are discovered through travel. Images à la Sauvette: Three Weeks in Provence delves into the psyche of the photographer-as-traveler, seeking to make sense of the dichotomy of stillness and chaos within the bounds of the photographic frame.
Opening reception: April 14, 2022, 6–8 p.m.
Gallery hours: Monday–Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
