Guests and Gusto speaker Jonathan Michael Square

Study sartorial history of the African Diaspora with Jonathan Michael Square on 'Guests and Gusto'

Jonathan Michael Square is a writer, historian, and curator specializing in fashion and visual culture within the African Diaspora. Through his digital humanities project Fashioning the Self in Slavery and Freedom, he deploys the power of social media as a platform for radical education and celebrates the sartorial ingenuity of Black people. Join Square as he leverages the antebellum legacy of the “all American” heritage brand Brooks Brothers as an entry point for exploring larger questions of race, identity, and equity.
