Go behind the lens on virtual tour of Albert Watson fashion photography exhibition at SCAD FASH
Join Rafael Gomes, director of fashion exhibitions, and Michael O’Brien, associate chair of photography, for this virtual tour of the exhibition Albert Watson: The Light Behind the Lens, on view at SCAD FASH through Sept. 5. Gomes and O’Brien will discuss Watson’s celebrated career and provide insight into his process.
One of the most prolific photographers of our time, Watson has merged fashion photography, celebrity portraiture, and fine art to create some of the world’s most iconic images for the past 50 years. His distinct, graphically powerful style has cemented his place among the 20 most influential and acclaimed photographers of all time. From portraits of Andy Warhol and Kate Moss to decades of shooting haute couture in Paris and Milan, Watson’s striking photographs have graced more than 100 covers of Vogue worldwide and been featured in countless other publications, such as Rolling Stone, TIME magazine, and Harper’s Bazaar.
The Light Behind the Lens, Watson’s first U.S. solo museum exhibition, features more than 50 works curated from his extensive photographic archive that showcase the artist’s signature style, expert use of light and shadow, and the wide range of his career.
