Go to extremes with an illustrated lecture by artist Janet Biggs
Join acclaimed video and performance artist Janet Biggs as she presents an illustrated lecture surveying her recent projects. Often exploring the human element—haunted by destruction yet with small opportunities for splendor—Biggs is known for her immersive, multi-channel video installations and performances. Her work has taken her into sulfurous volcanoes in Indonesia, into areas of conflict in the Horn of Africa, and to “Mars” (during a residency at the Mars Desert Research Station). In 2016, SCAD supported the creation of her video installation Afar, which was exhibited at the SCAD Museum of Art.
