Explore an array of artistic perspectives during 'Picture Run: Finding Joy' panel discussion
Join the SCAD Museum of Art for Picture Run: Finding Joy, a commissioned presentation in which exhibiting artists and cultural agents each present unique perspectives on a series of six images of their choosing. Participants are prompted to react to the question, “Where do I find joy?”
The importance of art spaces as places for shared experiences, connection through creativity, resilience, and the representation of diverse communities are subjects prevalent throughout SCAD deFINE ART 2020 exhibitions. This dynamic format displays a spectrum of contemporary voices speaking about relevant issues from unique and multicultural perspectives. Speakers include exhibiting artists Igshaan Adams, Charlie Billingham, Kenturah Davis, Raúl de Nieves, Rodrigo Hernández, Xavier Robles de Medina, and Shoplifter, as well as Christian Carr, professor of art history and Karina Rosenstein (M.F.A. fibers). Humberto Moro, adjunct curator of SCAD exhibitions, will serve as moderator.
This event is free and open to the public. It is presented as part of SCAD deFINE ART 2020, the university’s annual program of exhibitions, lectures, and performances held Feb. 18–20 at locations in Atlanta and Savannah, Georgia.
