SCAD is committed to the pursuit of excellence and welcomes applicants who have the same high standards. SCAD maintains selective admission policies, accounting for a student body of varied backgrounds with demonstrated intellectual capacity and a passion for creative pursuits. Applicants who meet or exceed the minimum admission requirements are not guaranteed admission. Exceptions to the general rules of admission may be made for applicants of exceptional motivation and ability.

Admission information

New students may enter fall, winter, spring, or summer, although most students begin in September. Summer course offerings may be limited.

Portfolio and writing guidelines

Portfolios, auditions, writing, and riding submissions are accepted from applicants who wish to be considered for achievement scholarships.

The Admission Review Committee equally considers all parts an applicant's qualifications and materials.

Tuition covers the cost of the opportunities a SCAD education provides in the classroom, at networking events, and through collaborative opportunities.
