Heather Greenway exhibition: "Thrust"

The SCAD exhibitions department presents "Thrust," a thesis exhibition by M.F.A. painting student Heather Greenway. Greenway views herself as a successor to the male-dominated Abstract Expressionists, but has consciously imbued a decidedly female quality through the addition of flesh, pink and pastel colors to her palette. These works are marked by energy, physicality and gesture. Greenway is particularly inspired by the materiality of paint itself, and her work expresses her interest in formal decisions about color, edge, brushstroke and composition. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
