Scholarship review process

All scholarship applications are reviewed for preliminary qualification at the time the completed registration form with $100 registration fee and supporting documents are received. The Summer Seminars scholarship selection committee will review their materials Monday, April 12, 2027. Recipients will be notified Wednesday, April 28, 2027.

Scholarships may be applied toward the cost of housing, meals, two daily workshops, workshop supplies, social activities, and events. Scholarships may not be applied to the cost of the registration fee, travel expenses, or SCAD transportation to and from the airport.

For SCAD Summer Seminars scholarship consideration:

1. Unofficial High School Transcript
   Submit high school grades through Fall 2026. An official transcript is not required; report cards or other grade records are acceptable. Dual enrollment, AP, IB, and honors courses will be considered. Middle school grades will not be reviewed.
2. Participant Statement of Purpose
   Submit a short essay of 300 words or fewer explaining why you want to attend SCAD Summer Seminars and how the program supports your artistic and creative career goals. You may also discuss circumstances that have shaped your approach to art or education and/or explain financial need.
3. Portfolio
   Submit three completed artworks that best represent you as an artist. Choose your strongest work; the pieces do not need to form a cohesive portfolio.
4. Achievement Profile
   Share your academic and artistic achievements, including leadership, organizational involvement, volunteer work, and employment. This may be submitted as a bulleted list or résumé.

*All materials must be uploaded online through the online registration process. No materials will be accepted by mail.
