Bobbie’s Diner offers classic comfort foods and diner fare with a modern twist. In 1989, seeking to add a new dining option for a growing student population, SCAD acquired an iconic stainless-steel diner originally fabricated in 1952 by Mountain View Diners Company of New Jersey.

After transporting the diner from its former home in Rhode Island, SCAD reopened it in 1991 under the stewardship of former residence hall director, alum, and namesake Bobbie Gautreau, whose homemade desserts and warm presence welcomed a hungry university community. Though Gautreau is now retired, her personal touches can still be found throughout the diner — including her likeness within the diner’s neon sign. Bobbie’s Diner is located across Anderson Street from Garvin Hall.
