Daisy Cao

Daisy Cao is an independent multidisciplinary creative working at the intersection of collectible design, human interaction, and material experimentation. Informed by her background in fashion and industrial design, her practice fuses an intuitive understanding of silhouette, movement, and the body with the structural logic of object production. Through this cross-disciplinary approach, she translates physiological signals into enduring physical forms. Cao's approach to furniture surpasses utility, considering her works first as sculptural mediums through which relationships between bodies, objects, and space can be explored. Her practice is grounded in tactile engagement, moving between drawing, modeling, fabrication, casting, and hand-finishing. Designing fluidly without a fixed methodology, she allows each idea to emerge through an evolving dialogue between concept, gesture, and matter. Her objects operate as spatial participants, modulating atmosphere, framing proximity, and inviting new experiences.
