Rachel Bassler
Rachel Bassler has dedicated her career to the fashion and accessories industry. She attended Tyler School of Art and Architecture in Philadelphia, where she ultimately fell in love with jewelry and trained in both traditional metalsmithing and Computer Aided Design (CAD). In 2006, she apprenticed with a world-renowned silversmith in Scotland to study advanced soldering and sheet metal fabrication techniques. During the next 18 years, Bassler leveraged her expertise in bench work and digital product creation to seamlessly blend technical considerations with design intent. She has held various leadership positions at luxury jewelry brands including Ann King, LAGOS, David Yurman, and Tiffany & Co. Throughout her tenure at these companies, she established and integrated their CAD departments, significantly enhancing their jewelry design and manufacturing processes. By incorporating advanced 3D-design and printing technologies, she streamlined product flow, accelerated prototype creation, eliminated redundancies, and reduced overall time to market. Bassler serves as the director of CAD and product innovation for Tiffany & Co. and joined their Jewelry Design and Innovation Workshop (JDIW) shortly after its inception in 2018. She now leads a team of CAD designers and oversees the Rapid Prototyping facility, driving the integration of cutting-edge techniques and technologies to foster innovation and new product development in collaboration with designers, jewelers, engineers, and quality groups to ensure the creation of exceptional products from concept to production. Additionally, she spearheads digital product innovation for Tiffany & Co., working with various cross-functional teams to implement CAD in virtuosic ways, significantly enhancing the company’s digital marketing capabilities.
