Benny Goldberg

Footwear and accessories designer

Footwear extraordinaire and apparel designer specializing in one-of-one performance pieces, Benny Goldberg (B.F.A., industrial design, 2023) transforms sport into fine art. A former captain of the SCAD men's lacrosse team and a founding contributor to the university's sneaker design minor and now major, Goldberg laces both leadership and creative verve into his work. After graduating, he joined The Shoe Surgeon in Los Angeles as a patternmaker before quickly elevating to design. Through a combination of discipline and initiative, he advanced into a hybrid role — designing and managing the production of custom footwear and full outfits for elite athletes and global performers. His portfolio includes more than 150 bespoke designs and performance looks worn in major sporting events, concerts, and broadcasts. Notable projects include Jake Paul's fight ensemble for his record-breaking match against Mike Tyson, Usher's Jordan 4s for the Super Bowl Halftime Show in collaboration with Jordan Brand, Fernando Tatís Jr.'s season-long series of exclusive cleats, and Stephen Fulton's widely acclaimed "CoolBoy Steph" fight outfit. Goldberg has also collaborated with high-profile athletes including Canelo Álvarez, Kyrie Irving, Odell Beckham Jr., and Shaquille O'Neal, among others.

In 2025, he relocated to New York City to co-found First Draft Design Studio with fellow SCAD alumni, reimagining sportswear and merchandise through upcycled processes and compelling stories. He now works independently as a freelance designer, with a focus on footwear and boxing kits. His latest project — Jake Paul's fight outfit for his ring dance with Anthony Joshua — marks his first fully independent production, assembled alongside a team of trusted collaborators.
