The Lorlee
Dedicated to addressing workforce housing needs in Savannah, The Lorlee, named in honor of a beloved Savannah community member Lorlee Tenenbaum, offers modern, energy-efficient apartments to the public at below-market rates. The 22-unit building is located conveniently near historic Pulaski Square and features:
- Fourteen studio apartments
- Seven two-story loft apartments with two full bathrooms
- One two-bedroom, ADA-accessible apartment with 1.5 bathrooms
Each unit is equipped with a full kitchen, energy-efficient HVAC system, LED lighting, and sophisticated furnishings that complement the building's storied past, as well as an on-site laundry facility.
Formerly the SCAD student residence hall Pulaski House, The Lorlee opened its doors in 2022 after major renovations as part of the university's SCAD SERVE initiative, which empowers the SCAD community to respond to the needs of its neighbors and local leaders with meaningful design solutions that improve quality of life.
Lorlee Tenenbaum (1935-2020), for whom the building was renamed, was a dedicated and respected philanthropist, art collector, and honorary SCAD degree recipient. She was a monumental supporter in the creation of the SCAD Museum of Art, serving as an adviser, and encouraging the display of new and emerging artists across countless medias.
Together with her family, Lorlee provided considerable support to many nonprofits including the United Way, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, local food banks, and others. She is remembered for her zest for life, her giving spirit, and her deep appreciation for art, education, and culture.
