Jenni Crain
Jenni Crain is a New York-based artist and curator. Her work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions at Kerry Schuss Gallery, New York; Parker Gallery, Los Angeles; OCTAGON, Milan; Gordon Robichaux, New York; Baba Yaga, Hudson, New York; 321 Gallery, Brooklyn; KANSAS, New York; Y Gallery, New York; and Artist Curated Projects, Los Angeles, among others. Crain co-founded and co-directed Topless, a seasonal gallery based in Rockaway Beach, New York, from 2014 to 2016. Recent curatorial projects include Tee A. Corinne: Selections from the Lesbian Herstory Archives at Midway Contemporary Art, Minneapolis (2020; catalog forthcoming); Tee Corinne: Bodies of Work at MBnb, New York (2019); and March Avery at Barnard College, New York (2019), as well as exhibitions at 55 Walker, New York (operated by Bortolami Gallery, Andrew Kreps Gallery, and kaufmann repetto); Pratt Institute, Brooklyn; Chicken Coop Contemporary, Portland, Oregon; Roberta Pelan, Toronto; and Shanaynay, Paris, among others. Recent texts have been published and commissioned by F Magazine (2020); Aperture PhotoBook Review (2019); and Blum & Poe, New York (2019). Her artwork and curatorial projects have been featured in The New York Times, Artforum, New York Magazine, and others. Crain was the director of kaufmann repetto, Milan/New York, from 2016 to 2019 and is the founder and organizer of O.O. & M.M., an ongoing curatorial project that encourages adaptability and deviation from standardized models of exhibition-making. Forthcoming curatorial projects include group exhibitions at Cité Radieuse, Marseille, France, and kim? Contemporary Art Centre, Riga, Latvia.
