Morgan Neville


Morgan Neville is known for his work as a cultural documentarian. His acclaimed film 20 Feet from Stardom won the 2014 Academy Award for Best Documentary and a Grammy Award for Best Music Film. His film Best of Enemies, documenting the debates between Gore Vidal and William F. Buckley, was shortlisted for the 2016 Academy Award and won an Emmy Award. For more than 20 years, Neville has been making films about music and culture, including Troubadours, Search and Destroy, and three Grammy Award-nominated films, Respect Yourself: The Stax Records Story, Muddy Waters Can't Be Satisfied, and Johnny Cash's America. Recent projects include Ugly Delicious, Shangri-La, and They'll Love Me When I'm Dead. His award-winning 2018 film Won't You Be My Neighbor?, a powerful and heartfelt tribute to Fred "Mr." Rogers, has become one of the best-reviewed and highest grossing documentaries of all time.
