Billy Reid
Billy Reid is a fashion designer whose label embodies his Louisiana roots and New York sensibility. By emphasizing U.S. manufacturing and textile development, Reid’s brand reflects his personal authenticity and craftsmanship.
Inspired by childhood memories of his mother's boutique, Reid studied at The Art Institute of Dallas in Texas, before working at Saks Fifth Avenue and Reebok. He debuted his menswear collection, William Reid, in 1998, shortly before launching his first womenswear collection. In 2004, Reid opened the first Billy Reid stores in Texas and Alabama.
Reid has received several honors from the Council of Fashion Designers of America, including Best New Menswear Designer in 2001, the coveted CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award in 2010 and Menswear Designer of the Year in 2012. He was named GQ’s Best New Menswear Designer in 2010.
Reid operates offices in New York City and Alabama, serving luxury boutiques worldwide and overseeing 13 domestic retail shops.
