SCAD students create stylish ensembles from recycled materials for NPE2015

Nine SCAD students created unique garments from non-traditional materials to showcase the recyclability of plastics at The Pursuing Zero Waste Fashion Show at NPE2015: The International Plastics Showcase.

The fashion show will take place in Orlando, FL at 8:30 a.m. in West Hall C on Monday, March 23, 2015 to kick off the start of the five-day NPE2015 exposition at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC). The creations will also remain on display in the Zero Waste Zone, a special sector of the exhibit floor in the South Hall.

The students designed the garments and accessories in a partnership thorough the Collaborative Learning Center (CLC) with the producer of the NPE show, SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association.

The Collaborative Learning Center partners with a wide variety of businesses, brands and organizations to research and solve challenging problems by drawing on the talents of top students from SCAD’s more than 50 design disciplines. The CLC cultivates active engagements among distinguished industry professionals, students and faculty through authentic, real-world collaborations.
