Since its rechristening in 2017, Acorn Cottage has served as the residence for SCAD Alumni Atelier ambassadors in Lacoste. In this seven-bedroom lodge, alumni live and work amid rich history, unique culture and artistic tradition.
A luscious garden, complete with fig trees, lavender and the SCAD crest shaped from local flora, welcomes guests into the 1857 structure. Complementing the rustic framework of wood and stone, alumni artwork lends a pop of color and whimsy to the classic Provençal architecture.
The proverb, "Mighty oaks from little acorns do grow," is inscribed upon the walls of this historic home, reminding students and alumni that small things — when nurtured — grow big and mighty.
