Tom Kartsotis

Tom Kartsotis founded watch and accessories brand Fossil in 1984 and served as the company’s chairman through 2010. During that time, he also launched the Texas-based private equity and brand development firm Bedrock Manufacturing, named for the fictional city in the animated television show "The Flintstones."

In 2011, Kartsotis founded Shinola, a high-end watch, bicycle and leather goods company located in Detroit, Michigan. The brand, which advocates the preservation of American craftsmanship and high-quality production, has been lauded by publications including The Washington Post and The New York Times. Kartsotis’ portfolio also includes Filson, an outdoor apparel and lifestyle brand. He has served on the board of directors for Burton Snowboards since 2004.
