SCAD Summer Seminars travel and transportation

Travel

Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from SCAD Summer Seminars. A complimentary shuttle service is available in Savannah and Atlanta, providing transportation to and from the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport and SCAD Savannah, or the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and SCAD Atlanta. Shuttle service is offered on check-in and checkout days at specific times. Transportation is not provided between SCAD locations.

Arrival and departure

Atlanta details:
Sunday:
Airport shuttle departure to SCAD Atlanta is at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Check-in: 2:30 p.m. for residential students

Friday:
Students are in class until 3:30 p.m.
Family open house: 2-6 p.m.
Checkout: 4-7 p.m.
There will be a morning and afternoon shuttle from SCAD Atlanta to the airport. Times will be determined based on student travel schedules.
Residential students must vacate their assigned rooms on Friday.
We will accommodate out-of-state travel plans on a case-by-case basis.

Savannah details:
Sunday:
Airport shuttle looping: 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
Check-in: 12-3 p.m.
Orientation: 4-5 p.m.

Friday:
Students must check out on Friday between 5-8 p.m.
Airport shuttle times: One early shuttle at 2 p.m.; shuttles looping 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Residential students must vacate their assigned rooms on Friday night.

International students may arrive one day before check-in but must notify the SCAD Summer Seminars office at least three weeks prior to the start of their session.

Automobiles and transportation

Transportation to and from workshops and activities is provided. In Atlanta and Savannah, SCAD Summer Seminars students are permitted to bring cars, but these must be parked in a SCAD parking lot for the duration of the program. Students are not permitted to drive cars during Summer Seminars.

Off-campus students driving themselves to SCAD Atlanta or SCAD Savannah may park their cars in a university parking lot and then ride the SCAD bus to their workshops. Students are not allowed to drive to classes or other program activities.
